Transformative Teaching Intensive
from Content Delivery to insightful education
This one or two-day professional development workshop is designed to support new and early-career educators in transitioning from subject-matter expertise to effective, student-centered teaching practice. This workshop addresses a well-documented gap for new educators: while they have the theory down, they are rarely provided with structured training in how to teach, engage, and build meaningful learning relationships with students.
Drawing from the framework outlined in Transformative Education: Nurturing Minds with Insightful Teaching, hailed as “the ultimate blueprint, seamlessly merging theory with practicality for aspiring leaders in education,” this program blends reflection, hands-on practice, and forward-thinking strategies to equip faculty with the mindset, tools, and strategies required to move beyond content delivery and toward high-impact, relational, and transformative teaching practices.
The methodology
Research consistently demonstrates that teaching effectiveness is strongly influenced by relational dynamics, instructor confidence, and pedagogical approach, not just content expertise. This creates a clear institutional opportunity: to intentionally develop faculty at the point of entry to ensure alignment with standards for student experience, engagement, and success.
At its core, effective teaching is not only about knowledge transfer, but about how students experience the learning environment and their place within it, because “students are participants in a journey of learning and curiosity. [An educator’s] role is to hold space for them, rather than take up that space.” This reflects a broader shift in education toward student-centered, relational, and experiential learning environments.
The Framework
This program follows the belief that “To be an authentic educator is to trust in the most real version of yourself, and in the learning environment that it creates.” Student confidence and engagement emerge when they feel seen, supported, and challenged appropriately. We translate this philosophy into practical, applied development, helping educators to build authentic teaching identities, develop professional relationships with students, and create learning environments that support engagement and growth.
